It’s Monday. Are you in your equation?

ITE_100_quote_squareFor a little Monday morning motivation, I wanted to share one of my favorite quotes and a few things we’re excited about at In the Equation.Com.

  • ALL IN! After 6 weeks, I’m finally feeling physically better from my pain in the butt sciatica (a little bit), and this morning I woke up with a desire to renew my commitment to going all in. 100+%! Who’s all in with me?!

-211 lbs + love = a WHOLE life!

The incredible gift of transformation — four years in.

ITE_Weight_Quote“Did you ever think in your whole life, you’d have a whole life?”

I will never forget the day I heard those words for the first time. I got choked up instantly. My eyes welled with tears and, I knew, for the first time since my transformation journey began that indeed this was the gift I gave myself when I decided to put myself and my health first.

A WHOLE life. Not a busy life. Not…a small life…a fake life… an empty life… But a full,  complete and whole life with me going into the arena 100% all-in, pursuing those things that matter most, even when they’re hard. (Brene Brown, I am Daring Greatly and you’d be proud.)

For me living a WHOLE life means living wholeheartedly, from a place of self-love and self-worth. It means going “all in” and opening myself up to it all — even and especially LOVE! True romantic love. The kind that once you get it for real, you realize you weren’t living a whole life before.

Yep. This is the gift — the greatest gift — I gave myself when I found the courage four years ago to push past my intense fear and go “all in” committing to my goal of putting ME in the center of my life and getting healthy so I’d be around for years and years. This was the beginning of learning to go for my big, hairy audacious goals and dreams — and it was the beginning of opening myself up to real, true romantic love and intimacy. Read more

Saying yes means “all in!”

All_In_GraphicThis morning I was lying in my warm bed snuggled under the covers, hitting snooze over and over, and lamenting that I did NOT want to get up to do my morning workout. I did NOT want to bundle up and go outside for cardio either.

And, I started dreading the idea that soon my cardio choice will either be to walk outside in the bitter cold and snow or take it to the elliptical at the gym. None of these seemed like choices I wanted to make today.

My mind wandered to the long list of things to do. The list of peeps who have reached out to me for help that I have yet to get back to. The PR follow-up I need to do today, and the new potential clients that are still awaiting my response. Yikes! I felt my shoulders tighten and pulled the covers over my head and sunk deeper into bed.

Then I remembered that I said YES! Read more

The 7-Day In Your Equation Challenge

intheequation-summermountain-lorischaeferJuly 19-25, 2013

Okay, peeps. It’s accountability time. For me and for you! After a short period of “slippage” on life with Lori-in-the-equation, it’s time to restart. To get back in the center of the equation and with my health and wellness goals top of mind. Who’s with me?!

Today, I issued a 7-day In Your Equation Challenge. To accept the challenge and participate, you must commit to being 100% all in on being in your equation – whatever that means to you. It can be as detailed and specific as you like. But, perhaps most importantly, it affords you the opportunity to think about and define what being in your equation really means…to you. How do you best honor yourself and meet your health and wellness needs?

Going 100% all in!

LoriSchaefer-After3Many of you who know my story or who have heard me speak, know that I live by the mantra – “I’m 100% all in!”

Going “all in” means going for it. Committing 100% with no holds barred, no excuses. Pushing past fear, emotional struggle and mindset blocks to give something everything you have because you know in your heart (and your gut) it is totally right! It means getting up when you fall, slip or fail and getting right back on the path. It’s knowing that if you keep walking, working and recommitting you will get there. And it is totally AWESOME!

Going “all in” is not easy. Nor is it for the faint of heart. Read more
