Today’s hike on the Superior Hiking Trail at my beloved Temperance River State Park was extraordinary. I have made this trek countless times and it remains one of my favorites. But today both the physical and spiritual experience topped all others. I traveled far faster than ever before along this windy trail and much deeper into the forest, stopped only by time and the threat of my day job looming.
On the weekend of May 12, I hosted a celebration party at the Bluefin Bay Family of Resorts on Minnesota’s North Shore to unveil the newly transformed me to close family and friends. Besides the fat that I love a good party, my mission was to thank my inner circle for their amazing love and support during my transformation journey. For raising me up during the past 18 months.
It was an incredible, emotion-filled, and simply perfect weekend that far exceeded expectations! An added bonus was that many of my family and close friends met my amazing transformation team – led by O’Neal Hampton and Leif Anderson – for the first time.

My journey of personal transformation has been a quest to put myself back in the equation of my life. For me, there were mountains to climb, both literally and figuratively.
After battling a lifelong obesity problem, I learned to create time and space to nurture my health and my inner self. I pushed past fear and in the process lost 211 pounds, 47.5% body fat and 11 dress sizes in 18 months. More importantly, I gained a new perspective on life.
