My first speech open to the public!
I frequently get asked if there are opportunities to hear me tell my story in person vs just in my blog. Well now, finally, the answer is YES!
I will be giving my first speech that is open to the public on Saturday, January 19, 2013, from 10-11 a.m. at Balance for Life Fitness Center in Shoreview.
Today, we had a fun photo shoot with two members of my personal-transformation team: Julie Gronquist, owner of Balance for Life Fitness Center, and Sandra Swami, my amazing personal trainer.
I promised myself I wouldn’t let too many weeks go by without a blog. This blog is both documentation of my journey and a key part of taking stock along the way while paying it forward. These past two weeks have been great. Absolutely great!

My journey of personal transformation has been a quest to put myself back in the equation of my life. For me, there were mountains to climb, both literally and figuratively.
After battling a lifelong obesity problem, I learned to create time and space to nurture my health and my inner self. I pushed past fear and in the process lost 211 pounds, 47.5% body fat and 11 dress sizes in 18 months. More importantly, I gained a new perspective on life.
