Come hear my story at Balance for Life

My first speech open to the public!

I frequently get asked if there are opportunities to hear me tell my story in person vs just in my blog. Well now, finally, the answer is YES!

I will be giving my first speech that is open to the public on Saturday, January 19, 2013, from 10-11 a.m. at Balance for Life Fitness Center in Shoreview.

My talk titled: “How to Put Yourself in the Equation & Transform Your Life” is the kick off event for Balance for Life’s Lose and Win Contest and it is also open for anyone to attend for a very small fee. Space is limited so if you are interested, I encourage you to sign up early. And, if you do, please tell them that I sent you so that Julie at Balance for Life can track who I sent her direction. I would appreciate it! And I would LOVE to see you.

As many of you know, the first gym/studio I ever entered for training was Balance for Life, a private studio where I trained with owner Julie Gronquist for several years off and on (admittedly, after one steady spurt where I lost 50 lbs, it was mostly off). When I met O’Neal Hampton in the fall of 2010 and committed to putting myself in the equation, and going 100% all in, Julie helped me prepare for fitness boot camp.

When I got home from boot camp in Dec. 2010, I worked out at Balance for Life with a personal trainer 2-3x per week, sometimes four times. It helped keep me on track  and accountable. It allowed me to keep my health and fitness goals top of mind every day and every week. And the greatest gift was personal trainer and wellness coach, Sandra Swami.

Sandra is without question one of the best personal trainers and coaches I have ever met. But more than that, she is one of the best people I know. Sandra is extraordinarily skilled at all aspects of health and wellness, and she helped me learn how to move my body properly as it changed and things shifted as the pounds came off. And change and shift it did. lol.

Sandra also helped me with the head game – the emotional part of the journey. She is incredibly intuitive, compassionate, and passionate. Her experience is perhaps unmatched with any other trainer I have met. And, she understands how to coach and support someone through major life changes. So I received a BIG bonus training with Sandra, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love that she can push me, challenge me – both in the gym and personally – and she ALWAYS has my best interests at heart. I still train with Sandra 2x per week and take her great yoga class and now will take a cardio circuit class with her, too. I can’t wait!

You can read more about my Balance for Life story and how important they were/are to my transformation journey here.

Two years ago, I entered and won the Lose to Win contest at Balance for Life. It was exactly the jumpstart I needed after my fitness boot camp and early in my journey to keep the momentum going. The program itself Lose to Win is educational and reinforced everything I was learning from my nutritional and transformation coach, and the classes and support weekly perfect to keep me accountable. Plus, I have a bit of competitiveness in me. lol Mostly, with myself.

For me, the contest provided another jump start, intense focus, a challenge, and ongoing education and support. If you are at all interested in signing up for the six-week contest, please contact me here or on email or Facebook. And if you do sign up, again, please tell them you were referred by me!

I can’t wait to share my story at Balance for Life – my gym/studio in the Twin Cities and the place where my daily transformation tok place. I hope I can help inspire and motivate others – maybe even YOU – to kick off your year of YOU in the equation. YOU first!

Remember, together, we’re gonna rock this and have a healthy and happy new year! 🙂
