From fear & dread to anticipation and love…of my mountain
The day I found my inner strength and became unstoppable.
I’ve been reading past blogs, thinking and journaling about my personal transformation start four years ago this month. It seems that it was four years ago this week that I conquered Oberg Mountain for the third (of four times) during weight-loss boot camp, and in the climb found an inner strength to push through immense pain to reach new heights.
In the process, I found a new confidence that I can do anything I set my mind to. It was also this week that I fell in love with climbing mountains for cardio exercise. Go figure!
As I read through my daily blogs during my weight-loss boot camp from Nov. and Dec. 2010, I see the internal transformation taking hold inside of me. I couldn’t see it then, but it is on beautiful display now. What a gift! What a lucky girl to have found the courage and the strength to push past intense fear of the unknown, pain and internal self-doubt to take myself to new limits. Wow! Today, I am grateful and I want this for everyone.
I want to share a few of the short daily blogs from the second week of my transformation start in weight-loss boot camp. I remember it like it was yesterday! I lost 21 pounds and more inches than I can remember in 12 days in weight-loss boot camp, but I gained so much more! And guess what I get to do today on the North Shore of Lake Superior to celebrate – climb my Oberg Mountain 9for about the 70+ time).
