You are enough!

you are enoughHappy Monday morning, peeps. New day. New week. New start. I’m sharing this one with you in hopes you have a fabulous in-your-equation week.

YES!

A funny for this Friday

losingweight-funnyHappy Friday peeps!

Here’s a fun one to brighten your day and let you know I’m thinking about you. If you are reading this, I hope you get a chuckle and have a great day.

Forgive the tardiness of this week’s blog. I’ve been on the road in Downeast Maine on an “In the Equation” tour. I had a great time at some of Maine’s most exciting and innovative companies exploring employee wellness efforts and speaking at the Bangor YMCA to a group of peeps just starting a Biggest Mover Challenge. (A BIG shout out to each and every one of you. You’ve got this! And, I welcome you to our In the Equation community.)

My recent trip has inspired blogs about the very topic of this funny — how to keep your weight off and stay healthy for life, fall hiking, and more.

Yep, I’m back in the saddle so stay tuned in the coming weeks and if you’ve got a topic to suggest, let me know. For now, be well and be in your equation.

A beautiful resilience

ITE_Resilence_QuoteMy blogs on the topic of “resilience” are getting a lot of attention lately. I love that when I peeled back the layers of self-protection and self-doubt, I found a beautiful resilience inside of me that I know means I will always be okay. I will always thrive.

Resilience is one of the key qualities/skills that will propel you to your goals. I am so grateful that I uncovered mine and wanted to share this quote with those of you thinking about this today. Read more

Time to restart!

And not because it’s Monday, but because you CAN!

ITE_restart_quoteWithout question one of the greatest gifts of my transformation journey — and my overall success at losing and keeping off 200+ pounds — is the ability to restart. So today for motivation Monday, it’s all about the restart.

What do I mean? Restart. Reset. Forgive yourself and get right back up and keep moving toward your goal. Because you totally CAN!

For most of my adult life, I was on a diet of some sort or feeling bad that I had fallen off the wagon and then I was busy telling myself I was a failure and couldn’t do it. I used my slips and falls on the diet as an excuse to throw in the towel, and as proof that I wasn’t good enough. I didn’t measure up. I couldn’t do it. Read more

Sometimes it takes a village

Support and accountability were key to my -200 lb weight loss & to maintaining it for 3 years!

Celebration Climb Mountaintop - May 2012Cheers to the village!

Thanks to support and encouragement from friends, I just got back from a cold, Minnesota cardio workout — power walking around my lake at 7 p.m. on a Monday night, in 40 degrees and drizzling rain. It was cold and wet, and lonely — only the nutjobs and die hards were out tonight!

I was not in the mood. I had every reason (okay, excuse) in the book for why I couldn’t workout today. Yet, I did it. And, WOW, does it feel great when you have to fight for it!

I will never underestimate the power of support and the accountability that goes with it. It was critical to my success in losing the weight, and it continues as I celebrate three years of healthy living and maintaining my -200 lb weight loss. Read more

Are you trying to do too much? Be honest.

Busyness vs. whole. I choose whole!

Which of these equals success in your mind?

1) Being busy all the time balancing your busy job/career, your home obligations, the kids/family, volunteering at church…and then when trying to fit in time for a doctor’s appointment or a walk with a friend, you put if off because you realize you have a work deadline and you can’t get it all done. You’re just too busy. Crazy busy!
